  2. You might be interested in the 1964 book "The Recluse of Herald Square -- the Mystery of Ida Wood" by Joseph A. Cox. Very good reading and much more information.

I don't know if it was used in prepration for this excellent video, but there's a very interesting book about Ida Wood called "The Recluse of Herald Square -- The Mystery of Ida Wood" by Joseph A. Cox and published in 1964. Recommended reading! --- Also, is the hotel still standing? It would be fun to visit the rooms where the ladies lived for so long and, according to the book, never got direct sunlight.
