  1. I have mixed feelings about mixed messages here. I think of how the daughters could have cleaned their own bedroom then I think maybe they're overwhelmed and discouraged by what's in the house and that the mother may stop them from clearing things out. I also wonder, did the daughters learn any housekeeping skills before things got so bad? could things be discarded when the mother is gone? Too one of the girls talked about getting ".used to it..." and that "...it's natural..." to them Then I think of how it's not that hard to figure out how to clear things awa. There was a comment about the hoarding being kept secret from the neighbors but just the glimpses of the outside of the house make me think the hoarding is no secret.Too the mother telling about how she would get after the daughters about, "Why is this here? What's this doing here?" when she's the hoarder is a great irony.

  3. How does a psychiatrist allow himself to get into a hoarding situation? He should recognize the problem and do what he would recommend to his patients. I saw that he used a cane so if there's physical difficulty he could hire someone.

  4. Interesting that Ms. Kendall and her daughter both had brown hair parted in the middle. I've heard that Ted Bundy killed women with brown hair parted in the middle. The young woman who was the first victim is shown with her hair parted on the side, but I wonder how she wore her hair at the time of her death.
