Dr. Barbara Ehrenreich who wrote the book "Nickel & Dimed -- On Not Getting By in America" gave a lecture called "The Power of Negative Thinking" and said that it's OK to be mad about change and loss and disruption that have come into your life through circumstances beyond your control. That lecture may still be available on YouTube. I had severe anxiety as a child, didn't get any help. Things got better then in college I became phobic, dropped out, and went for years being looked down as a bum living with his mother. Gradually I was able to rejoin society after a long time though lived at home, but helped out a lot. I would be surprised if people did NOT hold me up to their children as an example of failure. If those people knew what I went through... Corporate propaganda: When a new management company took over the apartment complex where I now live they sent out an email saying, "Welcome to the [company name] family!" Family? Do you management slumlord people think we're so stupid that we don't realize that all you want is our money...for which you provide a location that is dirty, maybe even moldy and where less than half of the laundry room appliances work properly?
