Now that's a good question: would I spend the night in the Stanley Hotel? I would say no. The hotel is apparently a great place but built in a style I don't find all that attractive and I get the impression it's become very touristy and too much about it's own image. I love the fictional Overlook Hotel from the Kubrick movie. I would gladly stay in that beautiful building and in that location. I would even enjoy being a caretaker there. I've been a house-sitter for people and being the caretaker would be the same thing but on a much larger scale!
