  1. VERY interesting comments and observations. This film, though not what Stephen King intended, is remarkable as a stand-alone. In another "Shining"-related video someone posted a comment about the party scene in the Gold Room, that a woman walks by with what appears to be a bloody handprint on the back of her gown. I remember that in "Carrie" there's a scene in which the Miss Desjardin the gym teachers has a bloody handprint on her short pants from the incident Carrie had in the shower in the beginning of the movie. Maybe Kubrick was referencing "Carrie" in some way?
