@ayeshak6822 I'm not a lawyer but if I rightly understant legal matters the man who was following Ms. Coutts hadn't actually committed a crime--- at least not yet. Too if the skaters went after the man and unmasked and assaulted him then they would be guilty of a crime. It was mentioned that the man had been seen before though that might be circumstantial since his face isn't actually visible. I would be interested to know if there had been rapes or robberies in the area that might be linked to the man in the video. Maybe he just follows women around which is bad enough. I think Ms. Coutts and the skaters did the right thing without going too far. It might have been better for Ms. Coutts to have called the police earlier in the incident but that's not said as a criticism. Without the camera pointed toward him the stalker may have become bolder.

In the comments I've seen criticism of the news people for giving the name of the young woman being followed, saying it gives the stalker more information on her but she seems to have come forward of her own accord to make public what happened to her. Too It's possible the stalker already knows who she is and where she lives. After seeing this news story I'm going to be more aware of someone walking closely behind someone else and will even say, "Did you know that person over there is following you?" or if someone comes to me and says they are being followed I'll take that seriously and let the person stay with me as long as they need that safety in numbers.
