  1. I enjoy seeing the huge mansions of people such as the Vanderbilts, but it's also nice to see a house that is on a smaller, more human scale. I wonder what the reasoning was for changing the beautiful exterior. I also wonder what the inside looks like. I hope it hasn't been divided and subdivided in apartments with stark white walls and miniscule kitchen areas bathrooms with too many mirrors like I see on videos about N.Y.C. apartments.-- I'd like to read one of Paul Ford's novels. He's an author I'd not heard of before; maybe a forerunner of Louis Auchincloss, another high-society author and who died in 2010.
