  1. All of the homes here are great but, I think I'd go with Hillwood. I like the penthouse on Fifth but, I don't like heights! This is an obscure house but, here goes: I saw an "America's Castles" episode about the Vanderbilt mansion in Hyde Park along the Hudson River. There were one or two photographs of the mansion that first stood on that location. It has been owned by the Astors and the design was based on the White House though a little more ornate. I'd like to know more about that lost Astor house but I suspect there isn't much surviving information.
