  1. In the past I've heard about how women would tell other women, "Have a little money that he doesn't know about", but this is the first time I've heard of that advice being given to a man. Good for the lawyer!

I've read about the British author Virginia Woolf (1882-1941) and my recollection is that she and her husband whom she married back in 1912 had an arrangement of a joint account, but what each of them earned beyond a certain point or a certain bank balanced belonged to that person. The system worked for them. Maybe it would work for a lot of other couple also over a century later.
