  1. A situation where I live in Bloomington, Indiana, is the decrease in the number of firefighters. Firefighters have left this town to go live and work in surrounding towns where they maybe earning $20,000 (!) more per year. Too this town is a university town with very high rents so the firefighters who leave are making a lot more money and probably paying a lot less for housing.
