Here in Indiana I used to work with someone who was a realtor and was told that when a home is for sale the realtor isn't required to say if someone died in the house but that the realtor does have to give that information if someone specifically asks. I don't know if that applies to NYC apartments. I live in an apartment complex in that has gone through three different owners in three years while I've lived here for almost 11 years. I doubt that the new owners even know about people who have died here in their apartments over the years and could answer a question about that from prospective tenants. I got to know my next-door niehgbor but never told her a previous resident had died in apartment, didn't see any need to reveal that information.
