i agree. There's a lot about this apartment that is "off". I wonder if the downstairs toilet that doesn't have a sink nearby is in violation of health codes. The staircase is a disaster waiting to happen. After the recent hurricane situation in New York I would be very, very leery of a basement space as it might be filled with water or maybe already had been flooded. Then there's the lack of light and view. I'd have to be paid to live there.
