@Trent733 This would be historically more accurate by changing the title to Kharkov 1943. If you want to see a Wiking uniform, search Rolf Labbart. SS men wore dotted camouflage pattern.

Austrian Gebirgsjäger vs Finnish infrantry. The Battle of Tornio 1944 has never been shown anywhere (generalmajor Mathias Kräutler vs Lieutenant Colonel Wolf Halsti). Amusing detail was that the Finns took over an Austrian suply depot including liquor container.

@wryyyy 16:58 Not huge mistake, just wrong year. The SS battalion was in Tampere. Search "SS kotiinpaluu" for video. People have kept movie tickets from 1943, so it was a peaceful summer. The Battle of Vyborg was fought on June 20, 1944.

@ethanramos4441 In that case, they would have gone all the way to Helsinki, got stuck and perhaps lost Dresden to Patton. Finnish made good use of just arrived German Panzerschreck anti-tank weapons in 1944.

Viipuri province was annexed to the autonomous Grand Duchy of Finland in 1812 by Tsar Alexander I of Russia.

@Tappettava This whole series idea is alt history. What if Vyborg–Petrozavodsk offensive happened in 1943 and Felix Steiner would order the Finns to defend the city. SS was multinational though.

@Trent733 Technically, Finland lost, but no battalion sized units were destroyed or surrendered. Pretty close to a draw in all cases.

They surrendered and were shot. I think this could have ended even worse. Soviets traveled northwest on the peninsula, but had to make u-turn to head to Berlin. Greater forces influenced the outcome more than any individual squad. More precisely the Normandy landings saved Finland. About 1,100 Finnish SS men were never caught. Not even a day in jail, which has probably inspired this alt history video. Johan Christian Fabritius, Lauri Törni and Unto Parvilahti were the only ones punished.

This is fiction. Like saying Inglourious Basterds is inaccurate.

I don’t know about hospitality, but a more democratic society. Mannerheim resigned twice and lost one election. President Ryti also resigned on his own initiative. They never clung to power.
