@SmotritelMayaka29 Operation EF (the Raid on Kirkenes and Petsamo) was executed by Lend-Lease aircrafts in July 1941, hence months before the declaration of war. Soviet pilots and insignia in October and November 1941. Pretty fast in my opinion.

They had several fronts, and were not neighbors before that moment in Berlin, with the exception of Alaska. Truman did give Senate Majority Leader Scott W. Lucas a draft resolution titled "Joint Resolution Expressing Approval of the Action Taken in Korea".

Kuusamo was taken and plundered by Soviet 205th Division on September 27, 1944. Interestingly, they recorded in a diary what they stole. Among other things, they took 215 railway carriages and 200 tons of oats. Fortunately, residents had been evacuated, so large-scale rape was avoided. The division began to withdraw back to the USSR in November 1944.

Good point. As troops congested in Central Europe, many babushkas and even backstage soldiers died of starvation. On the other hand, Nazis had already planned removing unfit people under Aktion T4.

I’m just selfishly looking at probabilities. Random person in Austria has a better chance of survival than in Belarus. Finland is better than Leningrad. Italy is better than France. Thailand is better than Burma. Japan is better than French Indochina. Quebec is better than the UK. etc. Surprisingly true even 76 years later. Italy is an exception. Maybe they were just lucky.

Chavez's opinion was very Eurocentrist. Although the term junta comes from Spain, it's associated with South American fascism. In China, KMT's strength was 4.3 million in the summer of 1946. They were not deported until 1949. Moreover, fascism was only slightly and temporarily limited in Europe. Russia's ruling United Russia party retained its majority in the Moscow assembly, being the largest city entirely in Europe.

@danielturner4912 Obviously, we discuss WW2 and its consequences. As the leader of a major Allied power, Chiang Kai-shek is most well known for being a political and military dictator. There are so many fascists in Latin America alone that they cannot be listed here.

@danielturner4912 Don’t ask if you don’t want to hear nasty facts. Venezuela declared war on the Axis powers in February 1945. Most Axis countries had already declared war on Germany in 1944. Venezuela is just a failed narco-state, small and isolated.

In most countries, there are fines that can be paid to get out of jail. Chauvinistan is ok, but I don't pretend it's the best. Less often it is the best, like Liechtenstein
