@catacutan96 TIK mentioned the famine in Siberia. Due to self-sufficiency, the impact on indigenous peoples was probably less severe. Their main subsistence comes from hunting and reindeer herding. The more of these precious resources you use, the more reliance you will have on others. Even in difficult situations, the reindeer liver can be used as a medium of exchange.

Price regulation also applies to the United States. And even today (at least here in Finland), you still see ads saying: one per household. There were quite skilled CEOs in the 1940s, as some companies are still standing. Perhaps the system in Western democracies was like Japan in the 1980s, where the job was a sort of lifelong commitment. The alternative was living in a cardboard box.

@kingorange7739 My gut reaction says it was crucial. There were probably 60 American-funded divisions on the Eastern Front. How many malnourished divisions would the Soviet penny stretchers get at that price? 100 ... 120? @andreykuchin6367 If that's true, opening the second front in -43...- 44 seems unnecessary.

Certainly as a Union they were nearing an end and the Allies' food aid was crucial. If you've ever seen documentaries about the Nenets people, you may find that survival is possible in Siberia, although life as a nomadic hunter is difficult. In ancient times, the elderly could be euthanized if they were a burden on the tribe. I do not believe that they were as closely monitored by the authorities as some nations in more populated areas.

Churchill is infected with STDs during his travels in Africa and dies 10 years later. Case closed.
