  1. Mannerheim gave a written notice to Germany that Finns do not participate in the siege. They never even made a plan to conquer Leningrad. Take a look at A.F Airo's interview (1978) on youtube if you understand Finnish. Airo was the virtual second-in-command and main strategic planner during the Continuation War.
