Actually, a massive concentration of soldiers were in Norway. Germany was bombed less than Vietnam. Bonn, Rome, Vienna and Helsinki were occupied for a shorter time than Kabul.

I don't see Ludwig Erhard and Lyndon B. Johnson as enemies. Like two peas in a pod. Look up Louis Till. He was executed by the U.S. Army in 1945 after being found guilty of murdering an Italian woman. West Germany abolished the death penalty fairly quickly in 1949. The USSR was "no-go zone". I only question recidivism and proportionality compared to Karl Dönitz and Ferdinand Schörner.

In other words, how to build a nation? Would Iraq be better off now if it had been bombed more?

@塔兰克里格 Ferdinand Schörner was the last Commander-in-chief of the Nazi Army. He was fanatical nazi and devoted to Hitler. Schörner was handed over to authorities of East Germany, and he was released in 1955. I don't know what they were thinking in that case.

Not so many as communists. Timoshenko was clearly a war criminal. He dropped napalm on synagogues and churches in 1939-40. Grigory Shtern didn't escape, though.

I'm looking for either moving or entertaining movies. The 9th Company (2005) crossed some cultural boundary at that moment.

Germany abolished the death penalty. They became a partner, instead of a colony.

I couldn't find any divisional insignia, but in general their uniforms seem secondhand, which might be appropriate for a penal unit. Actual finnish nazis had dotted camouflage pattern (for example, Rolf Labbart). An SS man wouldn't surrender in the first place.

I would not question the orders 😆, if they threatened to take my donuts

That is only possible if the Belarusians were collaborators. Stalin implemented a scorched-earth policy, so the villages should have been burned before the Germans arrived. Looks like one guy had a cossack hat and one blue X, which hints at Vlasov. All in all, a mixed bunch.

Claes Purjo was real life Mr. Brooks. He was wealthy businessman and propably gestapo officer, because not even a photo has survived. Police interrogated him in 1950, but nothing was found.

You probably mean isolationism vs imperialism. Both can be nationalist or patriotic. How patriotic is it to support a Georgian dictator?
1
@pulsaran Technically speaking, northern Finland was occupied. If Germany had won, most likely Eastern Karelia would have been annexed to Finland. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter, as they say.
1
@pulsaran The answer is: it's a matter of opinion who is a nationalist. Are you claiming Søren Kam was a globalist, because he was born in Denmark and supported Germany?
1
@pulsaran Are you saying that Heinrich Himmler was a patriot and a model citizen in every way, and by no means a traitor?
1
@pulsaran They were National Socialists. Very simple.

Try to do a couple of push-ups first. I say this as someone who pulled a big gun (95 S 58-61) along the Russian border.
