  1. Basically, it was the Reich Main Security Office, therefore causes confusion. Everything from StuGs, spies and special forces to prison guards. In the case of Finland, they also fought against the Austrians.   2.  @shanemcdowell3628  I can’t answer that because the SS ranges from Serbian volunteers to space rockets. For example, the Norwegian Legion lost only 10% and commanders were sentenced to imprisonment in a Norwegian luxury prison. I would call them an elite group. During WW2, division-sized units were able to operate completely independently.
