Unit had considerable trouble in its first week. After which the Communists were taken back to the camp. Ordinary criminals turned out to be reliable soldiers. It was led by Major Nikke Pärmi who belonged to the veterans of the Köninglich Preussisches Jägerbataillon Nr. 27 - but who also was convicted of manslaughter. Other officers in the unit had military police training or background.
