I love how they executed junior nazies, but released the generals from prison.Btw Steiner starred in "Aseveljeyden sankarit" (1943). Unfortunately, it's available just for us Finnish-speaking adults lol Finnish wiki: Steiner is considered one of the most skilled SS generals. As a person, he was easy-going and liked among his subordinates. There was a strong mutual respect between Steiner and his men. They should add, good husband material.

@paulpartington85 Only a few of the 6th SS Mountain Division's men had resigned from the church, which was the official recommendation. Especially post-war opinions are well known. That being said, I'm not claiming every battalion was Christian.

Read about Mao's sex life. He was one of the few bisexuals in such a high position.

Adolf "map guru" Heusinger. Who was Hitler? Oh, I remember that mustache man.

What? How old are you?

@thomasengel7062 No offense, but you seem to have trouble typing. God bless you. I understand your question is why Germany fought. I think the answer is they never stopped. Human nature is like that.

@andrewblake2254 I meant 22yo Irma Grese was sentenced to death. Then Stalin got nukes, so these HIAG men were excavated from their caves to oppose the East German generals arrested in Stalingrad.

“Great man. Maybe he (Steiner) had tasted a bit cognac since he didn't seem to be freezing, ” private Pöntinen wrote.

@timbushell8640 One myth is to imagine that countries cannot achieve independence peacefully. In 1953, The Soviet Union broke diplomatic relations with Israel after an explosion occured in the Soviet embassy building in Tel Aviv, which was planted by the Tzrifin Underground. Austria became fully independent in 1955. Decisions to punish or not to punish were theirs. Moreover, the Nazis like Kurt Waldheim were indeed considered impartial. Similarly, Estonia has lost some of its autonomy, albeit separated from Russia.

Stupid madman AH?

@thomasengel7062 I understand he mentioned the European Crusade, but technological development, imperialism and nationalism were the driving forces. Somewhat like drinking milk is not related to the Nazis, even though everyone drinks milk.

I think major general Karl Eibl was deliberately fragged by the Italians. They supposedly mistook his command vehicle for a Soviet armored car and blew it up with hand grenades. Given the date of 21 January 1943 this is by no means impossible. He commanded the recently formed, still inexperienced 385th Infantry Division, which was subordinated to the 8th Italian Army.

@samsonsoturian6013 Vladimir Kirpichnikov was one of those executed after WW2. Rather strange that he was kept alive for so long.

@fazole I read the same book and he said, boys gave Mao happy ending at night. Maybe you have a censored version?
