Churchill doesn’t have a nuclear bomb, so it’s purely American thing.

You should have dropped it in 1917, when Einstein lived in Berlin

Vilho Pentikäinen gave Suomi KP/-31 blueprints to the Soviets. He spent years spying for the Soviet Union, but ended up being accused himself and died in a camp in 1942.

Although waste of resources, TT-26 was ahead of its time. Also, I think 10.5 cm Leichtgeschütz 40 is underrated. Austrians had those, not just the Fallschirmjäger.

@ostiariusalpha If you calculate patents and university degrees per citizen, the result is different. All BRICS countries were part of the Allies of WW2.

@ostiariusalpha In a way, it does affect. British Raj lasted until 1947. West Berlin became autonomous in 1949, de facto independed in 1951. Bangok, Rome, Vienna and Helsinki became independent. Taiwan was one of the winners but was driven out of China, so they became losers.

However, this does not reinforce the libertarian perspective. Finland had lower taxation than the UK, but was technologically backward. Only after taxes rose to about a third (of GDP) did Nokia thrive. In 2002, plunged into stagnation as borders opened up and taxation rose further.

Stealing ideas works both ways. Finns made KP m/44 SMG, a copy of PPS-43 SMG, but it was redesigned to use the 9×19mm Parabellum. Eventually adopted by West German border guards.

Of course, the Allies had it. They are the planet earth.

@rickden8362 I agree. However, Artturi Virtanen received the Nobel Prize in chemistry for his fodder preservation method in 1945. As I recall, the method had already been sold, which helped food production in the US mainland.
