  1.  @standupaddict94  Well, actually they did collapse. See decolonization. For me, republicanism is an obvious and natural step forward. Motivations for abolition included anti-class views. Also, the "liberators" of South America were influenced by European liberalism. Sure, things can get out of hand too far into socialism, but this did not occur in Western Europe until the 1970s.

  2. Amen. I couldn’t care less about military history. There has been a lot of water under the bridge since the 1940s.

  3. Slovaks are more nationalist than Czechs. In most countries, the Social Democrats have not been very nationalistic since the turn of the millennium.
