Poland declare war on Japan. Japanese PM Tojo: I'm gonna pretend I didn't see that.

@dragosstanciu9866 Reasons vary by country. A bit like asking why Britain invaded the world. Yugoslavia was pro-Axis though.
7
If you change the date the attacker will change. France and Belgium occupied the Ruhr Valley in 1923.
5
@fritz1816 Finland also declared war on Germany. My grandpa was demobilized, and he lived south of the demarcation line, so he didn't even lose property. Granted, Germany was losing ground at the time.
5
@lati long I like how Russians make this same argument. Probably 6% were Benito's fans. Only 0,5% joined the Nazies after the Winter War.
3
Not a cell phone in sight. Just people enjoying the compact cassette
3
@lati long Take a look "Swiss Armed Forces (1964)". About 100 casualties during WW2. That's how it's done.
3
@atoll8423 We are talking about WW2. Kim Il-Sung, Hồ Chí Minh and Mao Zedong are your allies. Sounds bad, but at least they aren't racists like the Germans.
3
@dragosstanciu9866 Chamberlain was a thin commie sympathizing fuck To be serious, Chamberlain, FDR and Truman didn't declare war on Finland.
3
@thefrenchareharlequins2743 Technically, we have already conquered you. France and Germany have troops in Mali. France is occupying Nigeria. Mali is not in British interest, but Nigeria is a member of the Commonwealth. Personally, I am an isolationist, but in practice this is the price to pay, so that April 9th (1940) does not happen again in Finland.

Steiner: You're gonna be alright? Drunk Göring: I'm all right now. Wtf? Leave me alone.

While the EU map is not entirely irrelevant, it's not a military alliance. Members are allowed to close internal borders. Now that I checked, the UK is one of only seven European allies to meet the NATO target of spending of at least two per cent of GDP on defence. They would support Germany in the case of a foreign invasion. However, France is the largest force in Western Europe.
2
@dragosstanciu9866 Too many ifs. You would probably lose if Finland supported the USSR in 1945. Peak strength in Korea: -1.4 million Chinese -14,000 Britons That actually sounds like a nightmare.
2
@shorewall When North Korea fires a rocket to Los Angeles to "save" millions of people, you will understand how racist you actually are.
2
@AM-cm2kj Well, It wouldn’t be shown on CNN, if people applauded. Supposedly saving lives is the racist part. Maybe some surgical bombing could save people.
2
@jacksaad472 "Why would Britain openly volunteer to endorse a dangerous rival" Obviously, it was not yet an army of mercenaries. Ideally, you would only have PTSD or loss of body parts. I'd take my chances in Ireland, instead of Normandy. There was no capital punishment in the West.
1
@fallingfallingfallingfalli500 There were an insane number of nobles in the Nazi party. More than a quarter joined before Hitler came to power in 1933. Literally descendants of Queen Victoria. Norodom Sihamoni is the only communist King, I know. Please enlighten me, if you know more. The truth is that Nazi economic policy was centre-left and communist were extreme left.
1
@overtonpendulum2071 Hitler demanded for Poland to join the Anti-Comintern Pact, but I don't think this is an interesting question due to geography. Maybe Truman would have detonated a nuclear weapon over Warsaw.

They have a common defense. I sympathize with Russia, but deep down people want the right to vote, hence The UK Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF).
1
@firemangan2731 Sad how the 1971 genocide is taboo and the other is not. One day the truth will come out
1
@thefrenchareharlequins2743 Yahya Khan served in the Great Britain's British Indian Army.
1
@thefrenchareharlequins2743 "History is written by the victors" -Sir Winston Churchill

@dragosstanciu9866 Athens was declared an open city by the Germans on October 11th, 1944. By recruiting the nazi collaborators, the British changed the paradigm, signalling that the old order was back. So yes they fought both at the same time during WW2. Starting from Ukraine and heading south to Africa, the 27th meridian east passes through: Romania, Bulgaria and the island of Crete. Where that arrow hits should be a star 4:49
1
@devincarter7434 Churchill fought the Communists in Greece in 1944 and at the same time supported them in areas that were not included into the British sphere of influence. Bulgaria was a tsardom. Naturally a maritime state and the birthplace of Prince Philip was more familiar to them than a slavic country.
1
You must be Finnish. I don't even know she's a woman.
1
@Siegbert85 There is no grammatical gender in Finnish; nor are there any articles. Shouldn’t you automatically know that Mercedes is masculine and BMW motorbike is feminine.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 That's what I thought, but then I came across the Operation Searchlight. Yahya Khan is reported to have said "Kill three million of them, and the rest will eat out of our hands." He participated in the Mediterranean theatre of WW2 on behalf of Great Britain's British Indian Army.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 WW2 is quite irrelevant to Germany. 1940 and 1950 Demographics are the same. If the Nazies had won, the only difference would be Hitler’s portrait on banknotes.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 Compare to the BRICS members. Only 15 good years in Russian history.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 Just watched a Vietnamese channel. In a way, most came back like India, except Southeast Asia is a completely separate entity. One reason may be that their accent is difficult to understand. However, you are right that as a result the USA became dominant, and still is. Britain is a spiritual leader a bit like the Vatican.
1
@lati long Losses in Italy were relatively smaller than in France. In that sense, joining Axis was the right choice for them. Get Woke, Go Broke is true in many cases.
1
Actually, Germany had no choice, because Britain declared war on Germany. Brazil, a former Portuguese colony, captured two Axis generals. However, their participation rate was low because there was no real threat.
1
@mrhpijl MI6’s U.S. office drew a fake map purporting to show Adolf Hitler’s plans to invade South America, and made sure this map ended up on FDR’s desk at the White House.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 Ukraine alone is bigger than Vietnam. Imagine taking over Vietnam with horse-drawn carriages.
1
You act like Barack H Obama and David Cameron were bullied by Angela Merkel to invade Libya. Germany is one of the few countries that skipped the 2011 military intervention in Libya. Europe is divided into several blocs, such as NATO, Co-belligerent, Neutral and Russian (fascists). European part of Istanbul is the second largest city in Europe.
1
@AFGuidesHD Reunion? To my recollection, Prussia was in favor of Prexit. Austria-Hungary and Czechoslovakia were equally non-German.
1
@lati long If you bundle France with Britain, Vietnam will become the enemy. Saigon's administrative services had collapsed, and a loosely controlled Viet Minh-led group had seized power. Not to mention the Indo-Pakistani War of 1947–1948.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 Other options for Britain: 1. Supports Axis 2. Fights both at different times 3. Declares neutrality Now that I checked, the British did fight against smaller communist forces from 1944 onwards.
1
@dragosstanciu9866 No, they were somewhat behind. It wasn’t until sometime in 1948-49 that a Fatman-style bomb was completed in the USSR. The Greek Civil War, Operation Masterdom, Corfu Channel incident, Malayan Emergency were limited confrontations against communists, before the Korean war.
1
@AM-cm2kj Why would Korea strike? It's a totalitarian dictatorship, you never know.
1
@Koelebig Bulgarians are a South Slavic ethnic group. They switched sides after the July plot, in September 1944.
1
@SchmulKrieger Battle of Tornio (October 1–8, 1944). The actual declaration of war was postponed to 1945
1
The S-32 folder sounds like it could be part of the Operation Mockingbird. Finland has too many connections to America, since 1943.
1
Imagine if there were no Polish navy. That would make the whole war unnecessary. I cheer for you while enjoying an Irish stout at the pub.
1
I haven't heard that before. I have nothing against peaceful segregation. Meaning, defense cooperation combined with local democracy.
1
Keeping Germany down was not a conspiracy but a public announcement
1
@___-cp6or I don’t think a clan member would sell guns to black people.
1
@___-cp6or Huh? You never heard of Lend-Lease. Particularly important for the Soviets in 1941 were British-supplied tanks and aircraft.
1
@___-cp6or Yeah, it's called Anglo-Soviet Agreement.
1
@thefrenchareharlequins2743 I bet there’s an inch somewhere in Northern Ireland or Scotland.
