  1. Actually, the last Governor-General of Finland was a liberal, who was against monarchy. The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was signed by Soviet Russia on the one side and the German Empire, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and Ottoman Empire on the other. Russia renounced all territorial claims in Finland due to Western pressure.
