My husband was called retarded and ignored until they discovered he was born deaf, he's spent his life trying to catch up... but works, is a good husband and father, is not a drinker or smoker or drug user....(I was sexually abused as a child and also had to deal with that and get on with my life as an adult) I think we all live through childhood traumas and we either refuse to grow up and remain Victims and want everyone to fix things for us.... and there's others who are Survivors of trauma and fight back, pick up the pieces of their life and pull it together to build a future...
