My 2002 Lexus ES300 is amazing. The (02-06) generation is the best ES Gen. Quality and fit and finish is unparalleled. Not one squeak or rattle anywhere. Everything still works. I have 173k miles, I’m the second owner. New struts installed last summer. Rides like new, rear end is sitting up high like it was when it was new. Bought it in April 2021 soon after had to replace the OEM alternator and AC compressor (started squealing). Earlier this year I had to replace the original starter. These parts lasted 20 years! A true testament to the build quality and reliability of the original parts ! All parts except struts were replaced with GENCO I’ll keep this one for 10+ years!!

@Zav not one problem with my transmission. Fluid is clean. Doesn’t jump or misshift

@marcelpatel9017 yes. My 02 ES300 is solid and super quiet. Sound insulation is outstanding. Rear seats don’t fold down on any ES for structural reasons. There’s an x brace behind the seats.

@411sponge72 yes, both rear ones started leaking after I bought it in April 2021 with 160k miles. I had all 4 replaced with one notch below OEM. This is very unlikely for a Toyota and Lexus but the only thing I can think of the original owner used to put a lot of weight in the trunk.

@Kyle22030 this may change your opinion after watching this. https://youtu.be/75YcIEyWmco 596k highway miles on the same 2002 ES300. No doubt the 07-12 model years are great too, I never owned one. I did have a 2013 ES350 for 2 years from 2019-2021 before I bought my 2002 ES300. Quality and reliability was amazing. No issues in 12k Miles.

@lordhelps1 awesome find. that’s a rarity. mine just turned 180k miles. did have to replace a few more items since my last post. exhaust flex pipe, front brake calipers. all in with cost of car and replacement parts and labor i’m at about 10k. still worth it since i plan on keeping it for 10 plus years
