@stevenwiezbicki8894 Same reasons for the Gulf War, etc. Nothing to do with WMDs, because they mysteriously were never found.

As was a friend of mine's great uncle. His family too remembers Katyn. Sadly, when he first told me about it, the Soviet involvement hadn't been revealed, so he was blaming the Nazis. At least now he would know the truth.

It's really interesting to hear the personal histories of these people. Likewise, around the same time, I was taking a class taught by a Hungarian. One day he stopped lecturing and instead told us the story of his family, how his father and grandfather spent a number of years as guests of the Soviet Union, how they were forced to learn Russian at school as well as Hungarian, and what you had to do to get a good job (i.e. be a member of the Party). He only ever spoke about it once, and I found it absolutely fascinating.

@Stay EZ My Friends Indeed. Belittling rarely achieves the desired result of educating people and swaying them to one's cause; instead, it runs a high risk of alienating potential allies. In the current times, anyone using the term "I'm woke" in a discussion is a prime example of someone taking the wrong approach.
