I think it is a misconception to believe the first Christians were “slaves” It was mostly the opposite, most elite class became Christians and force converted later on their slaves

There are historian studies that shows Christianity spread more in a “top down” move rather than “bottom up”. There was a strong resistance against Christianity in the countryside but less in cities where elites resided!
