  1. If they are freely giving out food without charging, they don't have a good hold on their inventory. Unless they are serving food that is going to be thrown away by the end of the night due to quality. Inventory is revenue. But a majority of profit in food est. do come from alcohol because the mark up is high isn't it.

  4. It's not wanky at all I understand it. But you need to remember that unless this is done once in a while , it is detrimental to the business. As a business your expenses aren't just your raw food costs, its labor, gas, water, rent. You typically want to cut down on unnecessary costs unless its once in a while you're doing this good deed. But Im sure they run fine.

  5. And theres no way we know the food was going to be wasted either. Typically the purchaser takes into consideration how much is needed and does a pretty good job estimating. He was using a bunch of different items for the night feast, so it could have been the end of the week where they try to clear out their old inventory. Or it could be just they are blindly pulling out inventory and doing this as a way to attract repeat customers. Who knows.
