@AngelEconomics Yes, there are schools that are private, by the tuition is very expensive. Local school runs by the principle, so he calls the shot and he manages the money.

a private school that only charges 26k rmb a yr which is about 3,500USD per yr, is NOT a good private school. 1st tier city private school with international divison can cost 25-45k USD per year, NOT including lunch fee. Those school's canteen I trust because the charge a lot for canteen lunch and it is highly controlled and maintained. So I am no suprised that 26k rmb includes lunch, must be a shitting education school. Both teachers/staff and student all eat from the canteen.

Officials only care about ONE thing, how to get MORE money into their pockets and wire the money overses. They don't give a shit to local Chinese ppl. Local chinese ppl are cash cow for those officials.
