We can't blame everything on the economy. Those drivers only skill is to drive a car. What other skills have they accumulated over their 20 yrs, other than driving. Did they learn to cook? Rapair? They could of gotten a trade certificate. I say, it is bad planning on their part. We should be able to adapt in all situations or we become extinct like animals. If animals can adapt, then we can too. So, it is their own fault, only having one set of skills. SO they can't adapt and now they are crying because they will soon become extinct. It is survival of the fitest. Whoever can adapt to the changing environment; changing economic situation, they can survive. The double reduction when china got rid of after school training programs/schools. Many lost their jobs. They have to choice but to shift to other sector of the economy. They have to learn new skills. Life lesson: Always have backup plans. Always have multiply skills. If not...dont cry...when your sector tanks.
