  1. Raising children in CHina in 1st tier city is too expensive. Not only cost, and time. Once a child is born, both the couple is anchored for the next 5-8 yrs. Couples can't do the things they want to do. Energy and time and cost is spend on raising the child. Only rich people who can afford full time aiyi and tutors can afford to have many chidren. Then, when the child becomes an adult, he/she will feel alot of pressure from society; school and job and etc. A couple with a boy child, parents have to start saving up for a house. WIthout a house, chances of marriage is low.
