If if Florida is getting hammered with hurricanes, as it often does, and insurance companies can’t raise rates at the same time that property is appreciating greatly, then the insurance companies will collapse and go out of business. Same thing has happened with insurance companies in California in areas prone to fires.

@josephbiondi7515 The only thing gov can do with insurance companies is to get the F out of the way, and especially in a state that gets nailed by hurricanes. Rents and housing prices are high in Florida simply because so many people are moving there. Its supply and demand / Econ 101. We have the same problem with high rent in California, but not because everyone is moving here, but because millions of illegal aliens are allowed to cross the border. Again, supply and demand. But ok, tell me how government can magically lower housing and home insurance in Florida? Be specific.
