Prayers don't help though? However they would likely get the best of help from the ship's doctors / psychologists. As they do help.

@judybrown1810 No they don't. There's no evidence of prayers helping. If there were then we'd use them in hospitals and schools and everywhere! We don't do this as no evidence of they help. On the contrary, if you look up the Templeton Association on prayer. (They asked many religous places to pray for people in hospital) The Association found that more people died! Psychology informs us that the increase in death rate was because: Paqtients who believed they were being prayed for, gave up! This is the very reason why prayer rooms have been removed from all public hospitals worldwide (civilized countries, ie much of Africa and Middle East still pray to Allah through their claimed Prophet, Muhammad). However! IF you are speaking of how prayer gives false hope. Then I do agree with this. Its along the same lines as saying: Don't give up because you're the lucky million dollar winner today (when they aren't). Whilst it may give them the effort to push on and stay alive, when they find out they have been pranked, then the effect could be double as worse as what it was. I covered all angles I hope :)

Agreed if a security or ship support was supposedly controlling the situation and clearly allowed it to escalate, could easily be compensation for the family (assuming the worst here). A judge would merely need to say: You're surrounded by water and didn't realize an out of control agitated person may jump? Isn't 'fleeing' a natural response for 1/2 of all humans? (the other 1/2 is fight).

@shotpusher I notice one of the Christains I was conversing with has left the thread. This is common. I do not hate Allah/Sri/Zeus/Pallas/Xenu/Vishnu or ANY of the other claimed (all contradictory) Gods! YOU are the same, how could you possibly hate a God you don't believe in? I merely go ONE claimed God further. I prefer questions, and this may be your 1st time ever quizing an atheist. Be fully aware NONE hate your Jesus, nor is there an evil thing inside me running about, and that chanting will get it out! @laniechilove414 Atheists don't blame the Scientologist claimed God OR your God or any other! They don't believe in any because the claim doesn't have the evidence to justify any belief. NO? Then you are also against a silly idea of a God, right? You'd intervene right? Otherwise (if you had the power to stop such a horror from happening) you would be charged for child neglect, if doing nothing, but watching! @EddLiam I liked your reply :) But recovering from religion is a real thing. I also understand touchy subject. Its upsetting for me too that I must have these conversations when some horror happens. Religous threads (if open, usually not) the 'Creator' guy usually deletes my support! Here I have a slim chance of helping others.

Why? Everyone involved: Support workers use scientific navigation equipment to locate her. Family receive access to doctors / psychologists etc. I'm sure in the process atm. Ship people check their proceedures and how to avoid this in future. Can you inform me of anyone requiring useless prayers?

@kdbee6086 You didn't answer the question! Do the search navigators use prayer? NO Does the family use prayer? NO, they use the health services. The shipping people, are they at a round table praying, OR are they checking and updating their proceedures? And now you've mistakenly added me to the NO one list. I don't do prayers or require them, I'd go with an informed guess over a prayer. Because praying people generally show a tendency of not even being informed. Instead of informed guesses (much better than prayers) I actually use knowledge and reason. AGAIN, can you inform me of anyone requiring useless prayers?

Get use to it, and try thinking for yourself next time. Could you imagine you in the search and rescue team (or health, or proceedures or my area of reason). @kdbee6086 Thanks for being nice about this. But faith is an unreliable method of determining anything. Faith is used to believe in contradictory claimed Gods. If you had a reason you say that, not faith. Whilst the colloquil 'in my prayers' is common, clearly prayers aren't doing anything. They have the same rate of working as chance, therefore a known unreliable method too. We are already aware of a reliable method. And that's evidence and reason, the very thing all believers lack in their faith! I understand you believe you are being kind, but to me it comes across as: You're in my lepricaun wishes. I'd expect you'd think I was making a mockery of a serious situation. As I think about your prayers.

@kdbee6086 Agreed judging would be a horrible thing for anyone to do. Did you know if a God actually exists. Lets say RA or.. actually lets say your Jesus for argument's sake. He'd use evidence that you existed (he sees you in reality, not dreams or faith). AND he uses reason to determine if you actions allow (being the key word) you to go to the naughty place or not, or merely his garden. Evidence and Reason. He certainly wouldn't place claimed evil people in his garden, and perfectly (as much as can be) good people in the naughty place! Even apologetics state he must use logic. Therefore clearly he uses both evidence you exist and reason to determine your actions. He must find it odd people would use faith! Even he wouldn't do that as he doesn't need to, he has evidence :) I wish I had the same evidence for him! Damn it. But still a no show by ANY claimed God, mind you I continue to look out for Xenu in his spaceship, but I wouldn't hold my breath for any.

@EddLiam Its when people say prayers are actions of some nonsense thinking. Less prayers are clearly required, and more knowledgeable actions. Beliefs themselves are all ok, but guess what? Any morbid story involving death (or possible death) its the Christain vulture come in site. NO prayers messages of news reports of beautiful day at the beach today ;) I hope you have noticed this.

@EddLiam Then you'd know its not their irrational beliefs, its the actions (and lack of when required) from those beliefs. The common line is irrational beliefs cause bad actions. The original thread starter said: 'May God help that woman'. This is a way of non action. Whilst I appreciate someone possibly on other side of the world can do little, but to promote this, is clearly a mistake. Search and rescue use scientific navigation equipment. No God helping or requested. Family receive counceling, medical, psychologists etc. No God helping or requested. Shipping people assess proceedures and e4ven how to prevent this tomorrow or any future time. NO God helping or requested. Suggesting that GOD will fix it, is informing people not to take responsibility. Plus (since he believes in his claimed God) then he must believed his God watched this LIVE and did nothing at the time? God was waiting for someone possibly on the other side of the world to say help? Pretty sure she likely screamed that already.

This is the very definition of negligence. Its not love, its sadistic if anything. If we actually caught up with your claimed God we'd likely give him capital punishment for his crimes. YOU wouldn't watch your childen and allow them to wander into a burning building would you? You'd do everything in your power to stop such a horror, right? Then you are clearly better than your claimed God! I'm not suggesting this monster exists. YOU ARE. And clearly you are better than that, even a dog would save its puppies, a bird would save its chicks. What low life of a monster would WATCH LIVE feed of allowing (allowing) his CHILDREN to walk into a burning building? I EXPECT you have a plan to strike down such a monster? Thankfully there's insufficient evidence to believe in such a horror, so no need to kill it. NOR believe in it.

It was said that the capital punishment criminals were fully removed from the world (mass unmarked grave). I can see the idea in doing this back then.

Absolutely NO atheist blames your God!!!!! Do you blame the Scientologist God for taking too long to come back with his spaceship? Me either. NO atheist blames your claimed God NONE. As they don't believe in your claimed God or any other. You know why? Because you'd think you should ask, but no Christain does. Because the claim of your God has not met the level of belief required. This should be obvious to you. Who mislead you with LIES as they must have known better, but still lied to you about atheists. @BlessednotOppressed Alysssa, I should explain 365 days to you. Many (not all) planets revolve. This causes day and night from our small Sun. After 365 days (And a 1/4 more which is for the leap year) our particular planet goes all the way around the Sun. All planets do this through the gravitational pull of the massive Sun. Obviously all at different durations. We KNOW this stiff now. It's not magic or holy. To people thousands of years ago they did not know. Thus they guessed an answer, clearly it was wrong. As we now have telescopes! I'm open to ANY question by Christains Muslims or ANY God believer. They are all contradictory, but I happened to have learned about all of them and KNOWN science.

@limeyosu2000 Yes I saw a comment earlier that said no handcuffs, the ship circled back etc etc. Whilst I don't believe every person should 100% be handcuffed whilst on a cruise ship! It would need to be up to the support person (and their training) to determine that. We rely on support to support. But individuals can be unpredictable. I once had a friend in the car who thought it would be funny to pull the handbrake up! Back wheels locked up, and with both our bodies towards the windscreen, I somehow put it back down without skidding off the road! Um, unexpected. Possibly that will be the argument, no one (with support) has done that before.

I kinda doubt any claimed God would know. According to believers, he allowed her to jump. Would a loving Father allow his children to wander into a burning building (or ocean) ? Or rather, wouldn't a loving Father acually do something, if he had the power to? Your idea MUST be: Your claimed God watched and allowed one of his children to go overboard. That's called child neglect right? OR, there probably isn't any claimed God at all. And by the way, how could praying help? YOU believe your claimed God watched this and did nothing to stop it! Pretty sure he won't care about prayers, as not even the live show fazed him! Would you ALLOW your children to walk into a burning building or ocean, or would you do everything you could to stop such a horror from happening? YOU are better than your own claimed God.

That's like saying: They bought their tickets, I say let em die (its out of a comedy movie). Anyway, the DEFENCE is that a 'support worker' who was with her at the time, should have realized that some people fight, and some people do flight. ie She jumped away. A Judge would say: Didn't you know that the ship is surrounded by water? What precautions/measures/training/safety did you have in case 1/2 the human population take the flight option? What if they had no proceedures for this? Plus any lawyer could find something. Maybe the lawyer will work out the support worker had insufficient sleep to care for patrons lives. Maybe he drank alcohol 5 mins earlier? Maybe the sides of ships should be higher? Too many ways to go on this. Now you know :)

I do happen to see that on EVERY horrific news report especially when death is involved, Christains swamping the threads everywhere! You won't find them on news reports of family enjoys happy day at the beach and discovers a gold coin. NOPE, you'll only find them in morbid fascinations of death or horror (clearly that's what their God must attract to as well). This disgusting vulture type display of their clearly depressive beliefs. No doubt caused through the church instructing them they were born faulty and commanded to get better. Should not be put up with by our modern world. I would prefer country leaders themselves ordering Christains to stop with their nonsense beliefs (similar to how we laughed out of society claimed alien abductions anal probing testimonies). Yet these leaders also seem to be indoctrinated with religous nonsense as well. Are claimed Gods real? I'm concerned with their beliefs. Clearly the lack of evidence and minimal amount of reasoning, should not warrant a belief. MAYBE a God is true, but we withold belief on EVERYTHING until the level of belief has been met, clearly not as yet with theists (Christains etc) worldwide. Can't I believe in a 6 foot invisible rabbit, or say one of these monster claimed Gods? We all have beliefs that are likely untrue. The idea is to believe in as many true things as possible, and as few false things. Beliefs can and obviously do cause our actions. False or unreasonable beliefs can and do cause bad actions of others. This is why there's always some religous school, individual or nutter in the news where religion was the catalyst and an unreasonable belief caused a horrific action. Beliefs themselves aren't bad on their own in a closet. But religous beliefs do effect society, and enough is enough, its time to inform them their beliefs are ridiculous and uncalled for. False hope is not a good thing. Its up to all of us to stamp out religion. Worldwide. UNLESS one single person ANYWHERE provides a reason to warrant that belief. So far NOT DONE. I'm aware many Christains have been instructed its faith or trees, or love etc what the fuk responses! They constantly are informed by myself and others through long replies these are UNRELIABLE methods to determine the truth of any claim. Clearly the deceiving churchs (all of them) have a lot to answer for. And that's where I come in to help guide them with this clearly new to them basic knowledge. Thanks for your question. I understand that professional speakers have said this far greater in the past. Lets help rid the world of this horror of religion and ridiculous beliefs. Other than the Qur'an, no evidence a man flew away on a winged horse (incidentally they BELIEVE their claimed God broke the Moon in 1/2 and their claimed Prophet received all this knowledge alone in a cave! Other than the Bible, NO EVIDENCE a criminal after being forced to have capital punishment ( he had to be pointed out in the crowd, an unwilling participant for his crimes) FLEW away 2 and 1/2 days later (incidentally they believe their claimed God was originally on top of mountains in the clouds, and a LONE single claimed Prophet supposedly received all this information). Wow, time to throw out this absurd nonsense of highly superstitious and highly ignorant people thousands of years ago, even before the Dark Ages began (hence why the Jesus charachter didn't have a magic wand).
