  1. It's not an oversimplification to pinpoint only one factor. We know there's several factors involved and we're not dismissing any of them. But by choosing one and saying "this is the major factor" sparks a debate that in turn gets people interested in the topic. Among other reasons, it provides reason to go out there and analyse the battle to prove or disprove your argument and come up with their own arguments that others can discuss. History is a debate. Feel free to disagree with me :)
