  2. That's why they're printing tons of currency - because the banks are out of cash. They'll freeze up like they did in Greece and other countries. Pulling out your money now, is smart. Also, your currency is only protected so long as they keep inflating the currency supply, which will devalue your purchasing power. Gold is money because you can buy many many bottles of water with an ounce of gold, not just one bottle. Gold retains its purchasing power, fiat currency does not.

  3.  @fasddfadfgasdgs  But surely, in the Mad-Max scenario described, a bottle of water (and food) will also be valuable, and people will rob you of that as well. Same with fiat currency - people can rob you of that. So this isn't an argument against gold, it's an argument for self-defense.
