Besides enthusiasm, Trump saw record primary turnout which has been a more accurate predictor. 25 of the last 27 elections have been accurately predicted using the primary model. Trump has record black and Hispanic approval for a Republican. If he can gain 3% in either of those demographics he will win easily. Also, betting odds are identical to what they were in 2016 at this point. As for the midterms, republicans lost seats in the house but gained seats in the senate. Republicans didn't lose the midterms
