The 3rd actually came into play recently when people weren't allowed to be evicted. Some were military and thus lawsuits for violating the 3rd were flying around. I'd argue eminent domain would fall under the 4th but perhaps it needs to be more clearly stated.

@shanekeenaNYC I don't think eminent domain should be a thing at all. The government would define adequate compensation and would never actually be adequate. IMO, eminent domain is an unlawful seizure and a 4A violation.

@II-wu7mx idk. That doesn't really fall under the bill of rights. I'm mostly concerned with the government seizing privately owned land/property.

Nothing will come from this. They'll either keep doing it anyway or find a way to skate around it. Just like how "may issue" was ruled illegal, fundamentally nothing changed in NY.
