  1. No. GDP is always calculated taking inflation into account. Otherwise it would be pretty useless as an in indicator of economic growth. So basically our GDP grew 3% over and above inflation.

  2. It doesn't have to be that way. It's mainly GOP policies that support the wealthy in taking advantage of the rest of us. Some Democrats too, but mainly Republicans.
