  1. Being a cop is a social job, which he probably likes. And it gives him something meaningful to do besides sit at home all day or go fishing. If I were 91, I would hate spending my days with nothing to do but fish or sit on the beach. The way I see, as long as I don't hate my job, I want to keep doing some kind of work, even part-time.

  2. Take an online personality test to see what kind of job you might like to do for the rest of your life. There are free ones and paid ones. Maybe you'll have to go back to school at 30, but at least you won't have to spend the next 40 years dreaming about retirement.
