Saffron Sinclair Takes about a decade to become a citizen....if you came here legally and got a green card. Otherwise it’s impossible under current law. That means if they aren’t legal but they have kids here, they are stuck between a rock and a hard place.

@toddr1592 Obviously There's two reasons that Obamacare didn't turn out how Obama promised during the campaign: 1. Obama and Democrats tried VERY hard while writing the law to compromise with Republicans. But Republicans were negotiating in bad faith. They got lots of concessions, but then every single one of them voted against the law anyway. Republicans took advantage of Democrats' willingness to work together with them and trashed the law. 2. And then even some conservative Democrats weren't all in on the "universal" healthcare. And because of the filibuster (which required 60 votes to pass a law), they had exactly 0 votes to spare. That's why we didn't even get a public option to compete with insurance companies. Democratic Senator Joe Lieberman got bought out by the insurance companies and promised to vote 'no' if there was a public option. So here we are 10 years later still trying to "finish" Obamacare. Republican sabotage mixed with resistance from conservative Democrats in the Senate gave us a flimsy law that doesn't really make anyone happy. But unfortunately politics is that art of the possible, not the perfect. Yes, some people have high deductibles, but 25 million more people now have insurance at all, and everyone's pre-existing conditions are now covered. And people under age 26 can stay on their parents' insurance. Lastly, the price of healthcare is not increasing as fast as it once was (but unfortunately it's still too fast).

@cardcode8345 New York and California only have 10 percent of US population. We are not the United States of New York and California. We are the United States of minority rule. Imagine how it feels to have the presidency snatched from you when you know that most people voted for the other person. I imagine you must think it's pretty funny. Like she said, you only support the Electoral College because it happens to helps you.

We almost hit the debt ceiling a week ago. Congress raised it until December so as not to blow up the economy. Like they said in the video, it's a pointless fight over whether we are allowed to borrow to pay for things we are already obligated to pay for. If you want to be out of debt, you should raise taxes and cut spending when times are good. Of course no politician has the guts to do that. No president wants their biggest accomplishment to be "paying down the debt".

@MPIronmanJC Biden actually had hundreds LESS documents that were classified. And he didn't have his lawyers lie in a statement to the FBI that he had turned them all over after receiving a subpoena. But who cares about being accurate anymore? This is the Trump era. Truth is flexible. Alternative facts are in fashion. And cults are gonna do what cults are gonna do.

@pedropaulonormando3691 Exactly. The people who wrote our Constitution did a decent job, but FAR from perfect. Not even close to perfect. There are lots of changes that should be made, but unfortunately the writers of the Constitution also made to way too difficult to change the constitution. Our Constitution is one of the most difficult in the world to change. So it looks like for the foreseeable future, representatives will only have 2 year terms. And election season will never end.

@Meiu Trump plays identity politics just as much as anyone else. All the dog whistles talking about "inner cities" and "Chicago crime" and "Obama's birth certificate" and "criminals coming over the border." People don't like to say it but Donald Trump won the election on white identity politics and white grievance. Eg. "Take our country back" Make America great "again" "Good people on both sides" But so so many people say the side trying to help disadvantaged Americans are "playing identity politics." I really don't understand. My guess is you don't have many non-white friends.

Dr.Science She said she was indigenous 1 time (and she even apologized), and people just won't let it go. Just like the bogus attacks on Hillary's emails. Compared to everything we have see Trump do and that's the best you have on Elizabeth Warren. Really?? Wow. White people REEEAALLY don't like to talk about race. I bet that makes it really frustrating for people of color seeking equality. Dang identity politics always getting in the way of "real problems."

@lolno6562 And yet in 2020 it is Republicans that want to protect Confederate monuments. Almost like they are rooting for the enemy they fought against. You want people to vote based on how the parties used to be rather than how they are today. Yes, Democrats started Jim Crow. But no one cares which party Lincoln was from since it was Democrats that ultimately ended Jim Crow, passed the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, and elected a black person to be President. It is now Republicans that do everything in their power to make it harder for black people to vote. It's Republicans that did everything they could to erase the legacy of Barack Obama, a man admired by most black Americans.

@Great-white-tiger-hunter This is your mistake. You think Democrats only come into black neighborhoods during election season. In fact, Democrats were already there. Because Democrats actually live in black neighborhoods. Many of the black people who live in those black neighborhoods are in fact Democratic politicians. You're mistaking Democrats for Republicans. Republicans hardly ever come into black neighborhoods. And I could count the number of black Republican politicians on two hands. Republicans have all these complicated theories about why black people vote for Democrats. But then they trash Obama and elect a president most people in the world think is a white supremacist. You brag about Trump giving money to HBCUs, but then he just tried to throw out millions of votes from black people in Democratic cities after he lost the election.
1
@Great-white-tiger-hunter Republicans always complaining about why Democrats get black voters saying Democrats only go to "poor" neighborhoods during election season. Meanwhile Republicans don't go to black neighborhoods AT ALL. Republicans keep asking why people call them racist. But rather than look at what they are doing, they prefer to just criticize Democrats and act like black voters are "confused."

@lolno6562 No false promises. It's just Democrats care (at least a little bit) and Republicans don't. One sure sign that you care is allowing people of color to be in positions of power. Republicans have a habit of harshly attacking any women or minority in a position of power. Obama, the "Squad", Kamala. Meanwhile the Republican Party is headed is headed almost completely by old white men. Nothing against old white men, but they usually don't understand the problems of people who are NOT old white men.
