@jtl-en4yx Kid gloves? You want her to ask people to beat them up like Trump would? Trump is falling behind. We're not going back.
1
@ruthsaunders9507 Why does she need to be pretty. She's running to be president, not the winner of a beauty pageant. It's 2024. Does a female leader have to be polite and weak to avoid that complaint?
1
All this bill does is make it easier for black and brown people to vote. Why would we want more people voting in elections? We just need to reinstall Trump. Later this year hopefully
1
This is not even close to diverse. Our Senate is so unrepresentative. 2 percent black in a country that is 13 percent black.
1
Ameri Can How is my math off? The country is 13 percent black, yet there are only 2 black US Senators. Did you come up with different numbers?
1
CNN viewers are generally more intelligent than Fox News viewers. CNN doesn't have to worry about their viewers changing the channel because they aren't promoting enough conspiracy theories.
1
Everyone who says we are a republic, not a democracy is just looking for minority rule over the majority.
1
@TheSnerggly Unemployment is at a record low. Why do you have the perception that people are losing their jobs. No one is losing their jobs.
1
And you will also remember the Trump was impeached the first time for a months long effort to blackmail Ukraine into helping him win the 2020 election. By holding up Congressionally authorized military aid in Ukraine's fight against Russia unless Ukraine publicly announced a fake criminal investigation into Joe Biden. Sounds impeachable to me.
1
But you'd rather trust Trump? Thousands of his supporters are sitting in prison right now because he lied to them and they acted violently based on that lie.
1
@judymartin3416 This new bill actually requires voter ID and Republicans were still against it. The Joe Manchin compromise. What reason do you have to be against this other than the fact that you prefer unfairness
1
Robert Hunt Democrats are NOT relying on the courts. The court told them they have to pass a law to stop gerrymandering and that's what they are trying to do. But Republicans won't let it happen. Shameless Pretty ironic that the party that obesesses over the courts overturning Roe vs Wade is accusing others of being obsessed with the courts
1
@davidhansen4927 An inurrection is an uprising against the government. What Trump's supporters did fits that definition perfectly. They were there to stop the legal teansfer of power. At times violently. This is confirmed by the various convictions for sedition we've seen. The Proud Boys themselves are on trial for sedition as we speak. Normal "riots" do not count as an insurrection.
1
@davidhansen4927 You're right. I have been incredibly upset about that too. Because it certainly fits the dictionary defitinition of an insurrection. The DOJ has been going way too light on them. Imagine if it were Russia or China. Every one of them would be in a prison camp til the day they die. Merrick Garland always afraid of looking too political while he's off silently pondering obscurity.
1
@davidhansen4927 Yes. I am very upset they didn't charge them with insurrection. Merrick Garland and the Biden DOJ are going way too soft on the insurrectionists. They keep doing everything they can to look "nonpolitical." But Republicans are going to criticize them no matter what they do, so they should stop trying to appease them. Those insurrectionists tried to erase my vote and need to be punished. And Trump and Fox News need to be punished too for knowingly lying to them.
1
@davidhansen4927 Only the MAGA Republicans are terrorists and a threat to the country. Not the normal R's. It's their cruelty and their willingness to overturn elections. And their attempts to force religious beliefs on everyone. Normal R's aren't like that. You may be correct that CNN and MSNBC are untruthful and/or biased. But only Fox News is on track to losing several multi-billion dollar lawsuits for their lies about Dominion and Smartmatic. Those hundreds of emails and text messages released in court last week showing that ALL the hosts and executives KNEW the claims about 2020 election fraud were all bogus and they broadcast them anyway just to boost ratings. For 2 whole years. That is legacy-defining dishonesty.
1
@pathtopeaceministry6777 Every Trump supporter who believes his lies is always saying that they are "not a Trump supporter." Yes you are. Your criticism of the FBI for this, rather than the informant who lied, makes your bias incredibly obvious.
1
@William1866 Biden would be crazy to take their deal. It's less than a third of what Biden requested. If Biden goes along with Republicans and the economy fails to recover, it will be Biden's fault when Dems lose the next few elections. It's Republican sabotage in the name of "unity" and "saving money."
1
@William1866 He's not going to get 10 Republicans to do it the normal way, so they will still use Reconciliation. It takes time though, so it won't be passed until March. Of course he would love to have 3 or 4 Republicans supporting the bill. Biden is all about bipartisanship....as long as Republicans are not clearly trying to sabotage him and his party like they did to Obama when he entered office during a recession. Bipartisanship is a two way street.
1
Well Democrats are about to get something done. It's just that Republicans want Biden to work with them rather than go around them. So to encourage Biden to work with them, they offer a Covid aid package only 1/3 as big as what Biden was requesting. Almost like they deliberately want to sabotage his presidency right at the beginning....all in the name of bipartisanship and "unity."
1
To jail for what? After 5 years, I don't think Republicans have ever pointed out yhe crime that private citizen Biden committed. He can't legally be bribed because he was never a public official. And they can't prove that any money went to his father.
1
Power grab? All this bill does is make it easier to vote, ban partisan gerrymandering, and get rid of dark money. It even includes voter ID now thanks to Joe Manchin, but Republicans still blocked it! This makes it exceedingly clear that Republicans do not want election integrity. They just don't want Democrats to vote.
1
@mkhud50n I guess I don't understand how making it easy for people to vote and banning partisan gerrymandering is a "power grab." Only an unpopular party would say that. (Democrats even included national voter ID at the last minute, but Republicans are still against it). The only thing I can take away from this is that Republicans know they can't win a majority if every eligible voter casts a vote. So rather than moderate their policies, they have decided to close off voting access to the Democrat base.
1
@judymartin3416 That's because most of the Republican priorities can be accomplished even with the filibuster in place. All they care about is judges, tax cuts, and shrinking government. The only things the filibuster blocks them from doing are banning abortion and building a wall. However, Democrats have a long list of stuff that is blocked by the filibuster because it involves entirely new ideas and policies. And it is impossible to get 60 votes in this polarized political climate. Basically the filibuster harms Democrats much more than it harms Republicans. The only reason they are afraid to nuke it is because they are afraid Republicans will chop down everything they ever built if they come back into power. Republicans hold many structural advantages that allow them to win elections without having majority support and that (for obvious reasons) terrifies Democrats.
1
Private citizen Hunter Biden would be virtually unknown if Republicans didn't spend the past 5 years making up dirt on him to hurt his father. How many billion dollar lawsuits is it going to take for Republicans to end the lies and conspiracy theories?
1
First of all, the bill just put forward by Democrats includes national voter ID. They changed it at the last minute to add that requirement. So Republicans now have ABSOLUTELY no reason to oppose it other than the fact that it prevents them from closing off voter access to Democrat voters. Why do you keep on bringing up fraud? The entire Republican Party has just decided they are going to accuse others of fraud whenever they feel like it. Yet 7 months later, you're still looking for the evidence. It's so backwards. Long story short, Republicans have turned authoritarian and don't think Democrats (or black people) should be allowed to vote.
1
And yet, 7 months later Republicans are still trying to find evidence to prove this cheating you speak of. You had every single court case thrown out. I don't know how millions of people can fall for such an obvious con. It all boils down to Republicans hating how much the country is diversifying. They fear cultural change and will do whatever it takes to stop it.
1
What about them? What do you think they show? Can you prove it, or are you just repeating something you heard somewhere?
1
@hidesinlonggrass3229 Who did anyone is trying to cover something up? You just made that up out of nowhere. Joe Biden is not getting impeached. Because, unlike Trump, Biden hasn't done anything to deserve it. Even Republicans in Congress understand that. You don't impeach somebody just get revenge.
1
@fakenewsisthenews3542 No it would not be enough to overturn anything. Because no fraud was ever shown.
1
That doesn't answer why all these states are passing laws making it harder to vote TODAY. Why in the past year are these states suddenly passing all these laws making it harder to vote?
1
@janibeg3247 But why right now, and all at the same time? Why are they decreasing the number of polling places in black and brown communities?
1
@janibeg3247 Pretty sure you don't have an answer for why they are decreasing the number of polling places in black and brown areas... 🤔
1
@janibeg3247 I think I need to correct you. Voting precincts and the number of polling places are set at the STATE level, not by cities. Until very recently, Michigan was controlled entirely by Republicans. So basically what happened in Detroit is yet ANOTHER example of Republicans screwing over black and brown voters. Thank you for proving my point Jani. Republicans don't want black people to vote... in any of the 50 states. You have any more whataboutisms you want to try on me to justify Republicans' dislike of black people?
1
@janibeg3247 And all that may be true. But your whataboutism still does NOT explain why Republicans are trying to replicate Detriot in all these other states?? In your own words, that is a bad model to follow. Hint: Republicans don't like black people who vote.
1
@janibeg3247 Look at the Georgia and Texas voting laws. Making it easier to just throw out votes. Making it easier to just purge people's voter registration. Making it so that Republican lawmakers can just take over the vote counting process. Republivans don't believe that Democrats can ever win legitimately and they're prepared to go to extraordinary measures to throw out a Democratic win.
1
Which law?
1
@companyheroes8120 The House isn't getting to the bottom of anything. They made it all up. Because they want the help the cult leader get revenge for his own impeachments for actual wrongdoing.
1
@FUCK_PALESTINE Migration is at lower levels today than during Trump's presidency. I know you don't believe me, so just look it up and check for yourself.
1
Oh my. Bless your heart. How does it not cause you angst to watch an entire speech by someone so hateful? Watching a 3-minute clip of him stresses me out.
1
@mattturner5429 It's not that I live in a bubble. It's that I'm a Black man and Tucker does not even attempt to hide his disgust for people like me. It makes me nauseous to think there were millions of people watching him night after night nodding along as he filled their heads with anger and fear of people like me. He and his extremism are gone now and the world is a better place for it.
1
@setorious I've listened to him before. His entire appeal is white grievance and white supremacy. I'm a black guy, so you'll understand that it doesn't appeal to me. But Republicans were sure loving that sugar high. Sickening
1
@queen6201998 I'll pass. I don't need the unnecessary stress from watching the klansman in a suit.
1
@mattturner5429 Google it. You're smart enough. I don't need to prove myself to you. What matters is that he's gone. And the trolls out there like yourself will have to go find a new source for hate material.
1
@mattturner5429 You've got it backwards. It was people like me who told the media to call it out. The white CEOs would have been perfectly fine letting it go if we didn't hold their feet to the fire. And they were very slow to act. Better late than never though. His spirit is down there looking up at us.
1
@johnrusin4952 Carlson is the extremist. Pretty much everyone around the world agrees that Carlson is basically a Klansman in a suit. That's why his supporters are so Devoted to him. He fills a conservative hunger for the words of 1960s segregationists. But lately, his dogwhistles have been more like magaphones. He went too far, now he's out. His supporters will have to go somewhere else if they want to go back in time to the "good ol' days."
1
@TraditionalAnglican Gotta love all ya trolls. 75% of Tucker's appeal is the racism. But without fail, his fans can always be expected to ask idiotic questions like "what racism?"
1
@frankwolstencroft8731 No I'm not mistaken. Stop trying to gaslight me.
1
@juanitajepson689 "Do your own research" is the calling card of every conspiracy theorist.
1
Exactly. It's not like Pelosi just decided to wait 4 months. They invesigation could have started earlier but Republicans decided they would obstruct. Still has nothing to do with why McCarthy can't testify
