@justanothergoy5900 No, I'm saying that black people do not start on an even playing field. Most black people do not have huge role models like Elon Musk or fathers who are engineers or accountants. They do not have regular exposure to high-paying professions. Most black people are not close buddies with someone who's dad is a manager or owner at some company.
Black people tend to grow up in segregated communities with bad schools, inexperienced teachers, and less safe conditions. White people with money do not move into or invest their money into these neighborhoods.
On average, through no fault of our own, we are not as well prepared to get into good colleges ... (bad teachers, bad schools, less access to test prep) ....which is the entire reason for affirmative action, which sooo many white people hate.
Then when we get into the work world, it is harder for many of us to get a high paying job because we "talk different" or have less connections than white people.
These are the things that white conservatives do not even try to understand. You think it is all in our heads. Which is why black people vote for Democrats. Personal responsibility matters, but Republicans INSIST that race plays no part.
If you want to understand a little better, move to a black neighborhood for a year (you would NEVER do it). .
You will see what it's like. And you would also see how black people feel when they have to move to an all-white neighborhood just to have a better life.
