If there were able to start out on a level playing field. Why is it that the only good schools that have money, support, and good teachers are in white neighborhoods? You figure that out and we can get rid of affirmative action. In other words, solve segregation and we can get rid of affirmative action.

  20. Taylor Howard Your article is quite right that white liberals can have some negative racial biases and not even notice it. But at least they don’t actively work against people of different races. For instance, Trump bans Muslims, Nigerians, locks Hispanic kids in cages and separates them from their parents. But I bet you he won’t ban people from Finland or Norway. Republicans criticized Colin Kaepernick when he protested for black justice, but didn’t say a word when white supremacists ran over people in Charlottesville. In fact, Trump said there were “some very fine people” there. Now on the other hand, I know from experience that sometimes it’s better to know someone is biased against you than to have a liberal friend who is totally clueless. He will imply that your black neighborhood or culture is “sketchy” without even realizing how offensive that is. PS: if you couldn’t tell, I’m a black man with some liberal white friends who sometimes annoy me with their complete cluelessness. They think Trump is hilarious rather than offensive. Sometimes I just need a break.
