  1. Every vice president is a "do nothing vice president." The position has no official responsibilities other than breaking tie votes in the Senate. So Kamala is not unique in that regard. Mike Pence also did nothing. It's the reason many people have no interest in the job. But it is a tried and true stepping stone to the presidency.
