No one ever said they were tracking it and waited. You are the only one saying that.

@greenthumb8266 Sorry. I'm just always on edge nowadays. Conspiracy theorists seem to lurk everwhere. Always suspecting some plot because they don't trust someone or don't understand something. It wasn't that long ago that a bunch of conspiracy theorists attacked the U.S. government.

cpk8636-4 Why do Trump supporters like emojis so much?
2
@marskriegsgott9979 Because he has a good job? Hahah. The only reason he was appointed was to do harm to black people. We are not jealous of him and never will be.
1
"Divider in Chief" ..... then along came Trump and his Twitter account. Trying to overturn presidential elections and toss out the votes of millions of people who didn't vote for him. Divisive.
1
Why are conservatives always complaining about how horrible America is? Then they put an American flag at the end.
1
@jeremyblank8590 As long as our economy grows faster than the debt, it's not a problem if the debt always goes up. In fact, using a reasonable amount of debt can actually be a boost to the economy. But between the 2008 recession stimulus, all the tax cuts, and Covid stimulus, the debt has gotten a little out of hand over the past 15 years. So Republicans are threatening to DEFAULT on the debt if they don't get massive cuts NOW.
1
@Thinkforyourself6969 Sheep here. A big part of the problem is the population aging. Not enough young people to keep the system funded for all the retirees. So yes, there will need to be changes. An "intervention" in SS from Republicans most likely means there will be cuts somewhere. You can't fix a problem that big by getting rid of some fraud (which is already illegal by the way). A step you could take without cuts would be to get rid of the salary cap on the SS tax. For some ridiculous reason, income over a certain level is not subject to social security tax. That's a drain on the system by the rich.
1
Ue Mackay Not sufficient evidence of conspiracy with Russia. But he clearly said he COULDN’T charge Trump with 11 counts of obstruction, which Clinton was impeached for, regardless of the evidence he laid out in the report because Trump is the sitting president. In short, Trump committed crimes, but it’s up to Congress.
1
@darylharvey2865 Newsmax will be going out of business soon. Dominion has sued them too, still pending. All the right wing networks are in trouble. This is what happens when you get too close to Trump.
1
Well they probabaly would. But you have one political party that is controlled by this organization called the National Rifle Association. This organization tells its followers that they will lose their freedoms if ANYTHING is done to stop gun violence.
1
It's not her staff. Fani Willis is the district attorney for Fulton County. She has her own office. The county clerk is a court employee who works at and is paid by the court.
1
There is no evidence of that other than an unverified report dismissed by Trump's DOJ as unreliable. Now Republicans are trying to dig it back up so they have something on Biden to balance what Trump has done.
1
Cali Marie So what does all that have to do with Obamacare?
1
Cali Marie You have to earn $12,000 because your state failed to expand Medicaid under the ACA. Sounds like a red-state problem. Under the law, the federal government pays 90% of the cost of expanded coverage. So no, it doesn't bankrupt states. If New York is having Medicaid problems, it's because they were already having problems. So it's your governor's fault you don't have health insurance. You fall into the gap in coverage caused by red-state Republicans who want to do you the "favor" of keeping free government healthcare out of your life. Good luck 👍
1
Cali Marie I don't mind school choice IF it doesn't take away resources and funding for underperforming public schools in poorer communities. Really, who wouldn't want to go to a better school. The problem with school choice is its potential to hurt people who are already disadvantaged. Because it's simply not possible for everyone to get to go to the best school. But I welcome the debate. However, there is ZERO evidence that a public option would lead to worse care. As you already know, almost all advanced nations have some sort of public health insurance system. And most of them have quality of care fairly equivalent to ours. And not a single one wants a purely private system like we have because it causes so much needless financial suffering. Imagine not having insurance and you need a root canal here in the US. Or break an arm or have a heart attack. You are SCREWED. What's funny is if Trump came out supporting the public option, his supporters would surely follow. Because there is nothing inherently wrong with giving people more choice. It's just that conservatives don't mind how many people suffer, as long as the get to "conserve" the status quo.
1
Cali Marie Am I the only one who finds it ironic that you blame Democrats for giving out handouts, meanwhile you're sitting there with no health coverage lol. It's called a "safety net" for a reason. Most people get insurance from their job. You don't. But you purposely made sure you fell outside the net. And now you want to blame someone else for your choice. Lol. When we talk about people voting Republican against their own self-interest, you are EXACTLY who we're talking about. You know it, but you don't care. Because you were raised to hate big government. I'm pretty sure I'd rather wait a month for the doctor to see me than not be able to see one at all.
1
Cali Marie I'm pretty sure I'd rather wait a month for the doctor to see me than not be able to see one at all. But that's just my opinion 🤷♂️
1
Cali Marie Our doctors on average are not any better than what they have in other advanced countries. Maybe if you have some super duper rare disease you might find that one specialist who can help you here in the US. But in general, other countries have doctors just as good as ours. They all spend years and years doing the same training and treating the same kinds of patients. So really, we're just paying way more for the same care. And you in particular can't even see a doctor even if you wanted to because you have no insurance. But yay, you got to keep big gu'mint out of your life.
1
Cali Marie Yes, you're correct that the aca caused companies to limit their hours. Democrats didn't think companies would do that that to avoid giving out benefits (they should have). So the law needs improvements and adjustments, EVERYONE admits that. But Republicans have no interest in working to fix it. They want to kill it with no replacement and cause a nationwide crisis. I will remind you that Obamacare actually was the Republican plan. But Dems passed it into law. Uh-oh, stolen plan. That's why Republicans have no other plan to replace it. As someone who follows politics, I'm sure you're aware of this.
1
Cali Marie First of all, I'm not "controlled" by the federal government. And neither are you. That is a learned behavior to have so much dislike for the federal government. From family, friends, the particular media you consume. Republicans have been spreading that fear since Reagan was in office. The federal government has very little effect on your daily life. Ironically, the president most like a tyrant (gasing protestors, breaking numerous laws, installing family members in top government positions, separating kids from their parents) is Donald Trump. But you don't mind him....you think providing access to healthcare is worse. You think taxing rich people is worse (even though you have no chance of becoming rich).
1
@daniel5913 All countries spend more than they make. In fact, most economists believe that deficit spending is actually good for the economy....as long as the debt doesn't outrun economic growth. Case in point: to lower the debt, we would either have to decrease spending on long-term investments like infrastructure, healthcare, and education or we would have to raise taxes. Both options would be bad for the economy. Therefore we finance stuff with debt and pay it off later with with the extra money from faster economic growth. It's not so simple as "debt is bad". Debt finances growth.
1
@eby2257 No, they never said it would cost zero dollars. They said it wont add to the debt because they plan to pay for it all with taxes on the rich (salaries over $400k) and closing tax loopholes like Mega IRA rollovers. But besides that, why is it so hard to understand that spending money increases economic growth. Amd why not tax the rich more....wealth inequality is at record levels. It's strange you are calling their base dumb when you are the one lacking information.
1
@eby2257 Democrats are spending money to grow the economy. If you ACTUALLY look at what's in the bill, you will find it very hard to object to what's actually in it. Stop opposing stuff just because it costs money. You weren't like this when Trump was in office.
1
@eby2257 There you go again, forming opinions with only half the information. Tell me exactly how Joe Biden caused this high inflation. I might need to remind you that this is happening in countries all over the world?
1
@eby2257 Obviously spending 3 trillion does not cost zero dollars. The goal is that it will be PAID FOR. Read the bill, assuming you can read. Why are you playing dumb? Is that supposed to be like some kind of game. If you don't know something, google it.
1
@chrisd2193 Also don't forget Donald Trump. Between 8 and 9 trillion of the current 30 trillion of debt occurred under Donald Trump. Funny how he's not on the list. Almost 1/3 of all the debt
1
@eby2257 What are you talking about? Everything did not go to sh*t in only 9 months. Did you forget about ALL OF 2020? The economy is chugging along, the stock market has been hitting record highs all year. And unemployment is already down to almost 5% (a full year faster than expected). The fast recovery is one of several reasons for all the inflation. But I guess you didn't figure that out yourself.
1
@eby2257 You know it's funny because we would be in a very similar economic situation if Donald Trump were still in office during the record-fast recovery. But instead of complaining about inflation, you would be bragging about the low unemployment and the record stock market (just like you did before Covid). Funny how our party identification colors the way we look at things. Maybe try to take a more neutral view. For example, I am willing to admit that inflation is a big problem and Biden screwed up in Afghanistan. But at the same time I recognize that the economy is doing much better than expected. I can admit that Trump probably would have won reelection if not for Covid. But at the same time, he didn't give many people confidence that he could handle a major crisis. Try to consider ALL points of view
1
@sonnyjohnson8887 What I think is ridiculous is why we even have such a thing as a "debt ceiling". Basically every few years we have to go ask permission to borrow money to pay our obligations. It should be AUTOMATIC when we make the decision to spend the money in the first place. You don't ask permission to pay your bills after you already spent the money.
1
@eby2257 Bro, you REALLY need to get off the biased analysis. Kamala Harris was NEVER the "border czar". Her job was to try to figure out the root causes of all the immigration. What do you ACTUALLY expect her to do about the border. It's clear you're just looking for something to complain about. And I'm sorry you think it is Biden's fault that poor people come to America seeking asylum. As I said before, try taking a neutral point of view, using logic. You are smarter than these simple black-and-white analyses you keep throwing at me. Try to take emotion out of the equation.
1
@eby2257 Just a word of advice: Whenever you have to give excuses about why you "can't possibly be a racist," it's usually because you just said something incredibly racist. The old "my grandson is half black so therefore I can't be a racist". The old "I voted for Obama, so I can't be a racist" The old "I adopted a kid from Guatemala, so therefore my racist comments should just be overlooked".
1
@eby2257 "My wife and kids are Hispanic, so therefore I get a free pass to be racist".
1
@jax46 I watched the summary Fox News showed when they were trying to make it all look bad. They looked like complete assholes because the vast majority of stuff in the bill is liked by the vast majority of people. What asshole is against free community college, and money to support child care and elderly care. Especially when that asshole was only against spending money once it was the other party in charge.
1
@eby2257 "I adopted an Ethiopian! Therefore I get a free pass to say racist stuff. I paid $40,000 for a get out of jail free card!"
1
Yeah sure. Trump is not a racist. He just has a lifetime of racist acts and has his own Wikipedia article called Racial Views of Donald Trump listing them all out. And all the white supremacists think he's on their side. But if you just ignore all the decades of evidence (as his supporters love to do), then I guess you could come to the conclusion that he's not a racist.
1
If the black guy is not going to call out the racism, and white people are too uncomfortable talking about race, then who is going to call out the racism?
1
muhammad was a pedophile Except there has NEVER been much voter fraud. About 30 plausible cases out of over 1 billion votes in the past 15 years. Why do you believe there is voter fraud???
1
jxsilicon9 That's doesn't make any sense. Her politics are much closer to those of progressives than any of the Republicans. There's a reason she's a Democrat.
1
O.G.WEST WORLD. LWD/CPT ACE Except Bernie supported Clinton, not Trump
1
Taco caT Are you rooting for Trump? Didn't he just go to California and blame them for getting killed by wildfires?
1
oscar barbosa Why is it that we care so much about fresh faces and can't stand people who have been in the trenches and know what they're doing? Tbh, Beto didn't just come out of nowhere. He's currently a Congressman.
1
@hinglemccringle5939 It wasn't worthless. The work they did needed to be done. It's not their fault Republicans are in a white supremacist cult. ALL Republicans are white supremacists these days (I'm done coming up with "alternative explanations" for their conduct), so it will not be easy to bring them to the light. They want to turn back the clock on black, brown, and LGBT people, and the orange jesus is how they plan to do that. Inflation is temporary. The pain Republicans want to inflict on the groups of people they hate is not.
1
We didn’t know that Trump was going to try to cheat to stay in power though. I guess you will probably be one of those people harassing Romney for not being a doormat.
1
Cenk Uygur Actually the Ukraine president doesn’t say that at all
1
Charles Lewis https://youtu.be/7MWxq80oze0
1
Charles Lewis Why would we re-elect a corrupt President?? https://youtu.be/7MWxq80oze0
1
ALL Republicans think exposing crime is lame if it affects them. They claim to be patriots, then they attack their own government when they see their white supremacist leader get fired and a Black VP get hired.
1
Because Republicans are far more likely to commit crime in search of power. And they assume everyone else is just as corrupt, even though the evidence never materializes.
1
@Joskemom I thought Trump only hired the best people. Had he listened to people, he probably wouldn't have lost in 2020.
