  1. President's job description part 002: "Commander AND Chief" of the Armed Forces. I would say that under the Constitution he easily has the authority to ask or tell them to do WHATEVER he wants without prior approval, except go to war. And who would want to be the idiot marine who said no to the president for the nation to see? And why not have the umbrellas? The scene does look pretty cool...unless you actually try to hate it.
