You are right I was a practicing Christian before and I feel very confused when people claim that they are Christian but they don’t know a lot about Christianity except several holidays and vague pop culture imagery about Jesus. Good Muslims I knew were good exactly because they were very nominal Muslims just for not losing family ties. Good Christians I knew plenty. Still grateful to my first pastor.
