@Marco-tb1uj they don't even need to use just the money alone, if they have gold and silver or any resource then they are still good to go on the trade. Paper money is just faster in general.

@Marco-tb1uj The gold standard is a monetary system in which paper money is freely convertible into a fixed amount of gold. In other words, in such a monetary system, gold backs the value of money. Japan use silver but in these day and age other resource can be use to trade as well. you can laugh all you want but I just talking about simply basic logic of money system and demand and supply.

@Marco-tb1uj actually no. people still trade like that but in much smaller scale. it also depend on how close your community is to each other as well.

@Marco-tb1uj what do you think? if there is sanction going on around the world then it is best to have multiple transaction from different source. what you trying to say is about global trade money system of constant stream of trade but I am talking about smaller shipment then constant stream trade like Singapore import. Singapore don't have resource whatsoever so their best bet is to reserve gold bar and they had. Huge load of gold vault is in Singapore to backup their currency in case of anything unexpected. you don't know that much about this topic then don't try to look down on this method, there is benefit in back up of this system then just cash alone.
