I was a lucky boy back in the 60's. My grandparents mainly raised me after my mom died at a early age. This was one of my all time favorite things that she made that I loved. She made homemade fresh biscuits everyday. Then on on a Sunday or so she would make the corn dodgers. I still remember packing some in my pockets after dinner when I went out to play. Our dog had to be the luckiest dog on the planet. He never ate dog food. He had grandma's leftovers 3 times a day. He was never chained, tied or fenced in and he never missed a meal. Thanks Kent for the recipe reminder. I have to make these for the family this weekend. PJ

@mrlaw711 My parents did divorce when I was very young, then my mom died at a early age. My dad was career navy. It was easier to live with my grandparents than changing schools every couple years. I had my uncle & two aunts that were more like a older brother-sisters to me. I was a lucky kid.

I can't wait to give this a try this weekend. I lost both of my hound dog taste testers & I really miss my boys. They would always be by my side and loved it when I cooked. I did make the mistake of giving a couple butter beans to my beagle once. You will not make that mistake twice, I promise you. PJ

@juliehobbs7938 You are good people taking care of your dogs. I have had mainly hound dogs & I enjoy cooking. When I cook for the family they are always included in the cooking. PJ

@patmelton43 We are down to 2 dogs. I lost my big hound and we have 2 small rescues. Our youngest dog Coco also sleeps under our bed. I put her in her doggy bed when I go at night, but she goes under my side of the bed for a couple hours. I often cook for our dogs. PJ

@CowboyKentRollins He reminds me of the hound "Bogie" my wife got for me back in 1998. He was my shadow like your boy is to you. Thanks for replying. PJ

I just made a very large pot of your mash potato recipe for a cookout with the family tomorrow. Oh my how great this taste! I am going to use of it to make the potato pancakes for tomorrow as well. Thanks Kent. PJ

I will do this recipe tomorrow for my family. We are in N. Florida & the temp. is in the mid 80's going to 90. I had a deck built on the edge of our pond with a nice canopy over part of it. My grill & Smoker at at one end of the deck away from the sitting area in shade. We are still getting a bit of sea breeze, but that will be gone within another week for the rest of the summer. I can't wait to see my family try this tomorrow! PJ

I love Cuban sandwiches and will make this for my family. Only my wife would never touch it with "Mustard" on it. I will have to make her sandwich with something else. How old is your Beagle boy? I always look for him and your other puppies in your videos. PJ

I am so sorry for the loss of Beag. I tuned in to watch you, your great wife and all of your beautiful dogs. I lost my beagle boy back in 2019 & my Walker hound 2 years ago. I know there are tears in your home now, but Beag gave you a mountain of great memories. PJ

My suggestion for a title would be "Traveling & Enjoying America". I have traveled a lot across out great country. Much of it by driving. A few trips driving from Florida where I live to the west coast and back. I really enjoy driving across the western United States as you have so much open country to enjoy. Most of the time I would camp out off the road rather than stay in a motel or hotel and I wanted to take the back roads. Not the interstate. There is nothing like being out in the desert far away from anyone or anything watching a lightening storm just off in the distance. Or looking up at the night sky at all the stars that you can't see if you are near any town/city. I have been lucky to see herds of wild horses running in the open country. One of the most beautiful sights that my eyes have ever witnessed. I turned 70 back in Jan. & I decided I was going to take another long road trip across our country within the next two years. My longest road trip is 36 days of driving & enjoying our country. This trip I want to give myself up to 50 days or more to take in everything. After this video with Kent, I can't wait to start. PJ
